India Coffee Board adopts Blockchain based market place for Indian produces

The introduction of Blockchain to the Indian Market by Coffee Board marks significant improvement, visibility and transparency for the Coffee Grower. The planters would attract minimum to very less cost for their beans earlier and would be able to now bid directly for their produces to the seller using this blockchain based application using a desktop or a smart phone.

The launch of this revolutionary initiative is a joint effort of Eka Software Solutions and Coffee Board, India. Dr.Anup wadgawan, Commerce Secretary-Government of India and Mr. Jose Dauster Sette, Executive Director-International Coffee Organisation, Nairobi, Kenya remotely handled the launch from Nairobi. The announcement was done by Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Union Minister for Commerce and Industry from New Delhi. The press conference in Bangalore was presided over by Srivatsa Krishna, IAS, CEO, and Secretary-Coffee Board of India amidst much media attention and excitement.
