Krsma Wine Pairing @Toscano, VR Mall


When one of the best Italian restaurants in Bangalore invites you for a Wine-pairing dinner, missing is never an option. So I showed up on this monsoon evening to Toscano, VR Mall withstanding a usual downpour to have a taste of the KRSMA wines paired with their delectable culinary creations in fine company of distinguished guests and food aficionados.

We started with the Amuse Bouche, an assortment of four favourites appealing enough to bite into them almost instantly. The Asparagus Wraps with Parma Ham and Lemon Mayo along with the Duck and Fig Beetroot Toasts were one of a kind. Their Vegetarian counterparts with Arancini Balls in Arabiatta sauce and Wild Mushrooms on Blinis were equally drool worthy.

The First Course comprising of a Burratta Cheese with Wine Poached Pear Salad and Oven Roasted peppers, Pumpkin Oil and Aged Bresolla paired with one of Krsma’s Flagships –Estate Sauvignon Blanc.

The Parmesan and Choice Gnocci with Walnut butter and Sage comprised the standard staple for the evening, followed by an Orange Sorbet to cleanse the palette.

For Mains it was definitely the slow-cooked Pork Belly with Apple Chutney and Onion Fritters which took my breath away. Paired with K2 and Sangiovese, the succulent texture of the meat was accentuated to ethereal levels.

The Mini Chocolate and Almond Ginger Brownies formed the perfect sweet endings to our culinary journey which left us craving for more. The K2 was definitely the sure winner amongst the wines tasted and the taste of the Pork Belly and the Asparagus Wraps lingered long enough to make me smile ear to ear upon their mere thoughts. A must try for all Italian cuisine lovers, nobody does it better than Toscano.
